Meet our latest RESTAURATEUR OF THE QUARTER: Anthony Nemati
Anthony has a dual career in the restaurant and the real estate construction industries. In April 1999, he founded CLH Construction, specializing in building and designing luxury homes, a business he continues to operate today.
In addition to his construction expertise, Anthony has a diverse background in the restaurant industry.
Over the years, he has owned and operated a pizzeria, a steakhouse, a Middle Eastern restaurant, and a Mediterranean restaurant before founding Kravings Brazilian Fusion Steakhouse in Tarzana, CA, in June 2008.
Opening a large Brazilian-style eatery that combines quality dining with fabulous cocktails had always been Anthony’s dream. He brought that vision to life by building Kravings from scratch in just eight months. The restaurant features five distinct areas: the main dining room, which seats 60; a wraparound “C”-shaped bar; two separate dining rooms, each seating 50; and an outdoor tented patio room equipped with full HVAC, along with some walkway seating. A hallmark of Anthony’s design is the ability to host up to three private parties simultaneously without disrupting the main dining area. He also designed a spacious kitchen to handle high-volume demands efficiently.
Anthony’s extensive experience in real estate construction, design, and restaurant management gave him the knowledge and skills to create Kravings, a fully functional and outstanding dining establishment. Despite opening during the challenging economic climate of the Great Recession, the restaurant faced several years of negative cash flow before earning a reputation for its exceptional dining experience. Today, Kravings is beloved by locals and stands as a testament to Anthony’s perseverance and vision. While he once considered expanding the concept, he ultimately decided to focus on refining the current operation.
Kravings is renowned for its grill masters, who bring sizzling, fire-roasted meats on skewers or cedar planks to carve tableside. The menu features a variety of offerings, from Brazilian Churrasco BBQ and kebabs to Asian-inspired dishes and premium USDA steaks, all served tableside until diners indicate they are satisfied. Anthony’s passion for fine wine is reflected in the wine list, which boasts over 120 hand-selected options from around the world. His talent for crafting unique cocktails is evident in the mixologist-driven creations made with premium spirits and liqueurs. To enhance the dining experience, Anthony also introduced samba dancing entertainment at Kravings.
After 16 years of success, Anthony decided it was time to sell Kravings at a peak moment for the business. In November 2024, RRC sold the restaurant for a well-deserved, premium price. We extend our best wishes to Anthony and his family for continued success in their future endeavors.
